Religion is for the Philosophically Lazy
95% of Christians will not understand what the title above means. Not because they are stupid (if we do not include the evagelistic christians). But because they don't bother.
God. The creator of apathetic humans. The spoon fed planet. Religion is supposed to free your mind, but there has been nothing more oppressive. Oppression here insofar as telling you what to think
Not even hitler or the Singapore Government. Not the law, not taxes, has the same amount of repressive powers.
When I was schooling, there was a difference between the book smart and the street smart. The book smart, at a young age, were determined by the Government to be so, and thus had privelages unknown to the street smart. They were given books, many books. They were taught how to think. How to score. How to get A's.
When given a problem the book smart queries "Which chapter is this from?"
All the street smart had was a shovel to dig their own graves with. They learnt the hard way. They learnt that in life there are no problems, because no one knows what the problem is. If a situation can be formulate into a problem, it was already destined to be solved.
Street smarts have been long considered by the book smarts to be slackers. But it's only because they can afford to be.
It's like throwing a baby into a swimming pool. Either he swims and survives. Or he dies.
In 2 years when I graduate, I will be joining all the book smarts at the bottom of the pool.
Religion is like the Government. Picking out the "enlightened" few. Those who know God are told what to think. Because well, they are so enlightened, so they can afford to be taught the truth.
Taught the truth. Taught the truth. Taught the truth.
A thousand brain cells just died in my head from the irony.
Life's lessons are learnt the hard way. Nothing trumps experience. Nothing trumps the pain of failure to remind you that failing sucks. Or having your theories proven wrong to remind you that nobody (not even God) is ever always right.
Come out of your protective shells now or when you walk out of the cave years from now, the sun is going to permanantly damage your retina. Young dudes and dudettes heal faster
Experience life for God's sake. (pun intentional). Life sucks. Which is why it is so wonderful.
